CURRELL, Dr Matthew
Clinical Psychologist
Dr Matthew Currell is a Clinical Psychologist with an interest in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders (generalised anxiety, social anxiety, phobias & panic), obsessive compulsive disorder, perfectionism, low self-esteem, stress, and adjustment to significant changes in life. He has worked in a variety of mental health settings including, public hospitals, private psychiatric hospitals, and private practice (young persons & adults). Dr Currell supervises early-career provisional psychologists engaged in postgraduate clinical psychology training. He is a firm believer of therapy being an educational process where people walk away from sessions with improved knowledge and understanding of ways to overcome symptoms of concern. Dr Currell applies a range of evidenced-based treatments. He completed a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Queensland. Dr Currell is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia, holds membership with the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and is a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.
GREEN, Dr Angela
Clinical Psychologist
Dr Green is a Clinical Psychologist who has a keen interest in the treatment of anxiety disorders (Panic, Social, GAD, OCD, PTSD), mood disorders, and clinical perfectionism within the adult population. She has over 20 years clinical experience having worked in public, hospital, and Government sectors. Dr Green holds the Academic Title of Senior Lecturer with the School of Psychology at The University of Queensland, and provides supervision to postgraduate Clinical Psychology interns. She is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) with endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist, and is a PsyBA-approved Supervisor. Angela is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists, and a Member of the Australian Association of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Ltd (AACBT).
HALPIN, Mr James
Clinical Psychologist
James is a Clinical Psychologist who is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA). He has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in public adult mental health, University, and private clinic settings. He has treated people experiencing a range of difficulties including, anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, stress and adjustment, and self-esteem issues. James mainly works with adolescents and adults, and has a particular interest in treating anxiety disorders.

Aidan is a Clinical Psychology Registrar with experience working in hospital, community outreach, and private practice settings. He has worked with adults and adolescents across a diverse range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, and in the treatment of anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, stress, and low self-esteem. Aidan brings a warm and empathetic approach to each session, utilising evidence-based interventions within a Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy framework tailored to the needs of each individual.
IRVING, Mr David
Psychologist
David is a Psychologist who holds general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. He has 18 years of experience across a range of settings including, Commonwealth Government, forensic, rehabilitation, and private clinics. David has assessed adolescents and adults presenting with a range of developmental, learning and cognitive difficulties. He has particular interests in intellectual disability, specific learning disorders, ADHD, and memory and executive dysfunction.
JOHNSON, Dr Vanessa

Dr Johnson is a Consultant Psychiatrist in private practice with extensive experience in general adult psychiatry. With many years experience in the public sector, Dr Johnson is now in full time private practice with a particular interest in treating Mood Disorders (Depression, Bipolar Affective Disorder), Psychotic Disorders, Perinatal Psychiatry, Anxiety Disorders, Personality Disorders, Women’s Mental Health, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). Dr Johnson has admitting rights to the Toowong Private Hospital.

Breanna is a Clinical Psychologist who predominantly works with adolescents and young adults. She has more than 10 years experience in both public and private sectors. Areas of particular interest include, depression, anxiety (incl. school reluctance & social anxiety), OCD, stress, and difficulties with emotional regulation.

Joshua is a Clinical Psychologist with experience in public hospital, community, and private clinic settings. He has experience treating adolescents and adults with anxiety (particularly social anxiety, generalised anxiety, and panic), depression, stress and burnout, trauma, and adjustment to life changes. He has a particular interest in working with people with autism spectrum conditions and ADHD. Joshua is warm and non-judgmental in his approach, and is sensitive to different cultural backgrounds in his practice. He utilises various evidence-based approaches in an integrative manner to fit a person’s needs and preferences.

Jefferson is a Clinical Psychologist who has experience working with children, adolescents, parents, and adults in schools, hospitals, and private clinics. He has provided support to individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, adjustment, and self-esteem difficulties. Jefferson has a client-centred approach, and has an interest in supporting individuals from minority and marginalised groups (e.g., individuals from disability & LGBTI communities). He holds a Master of Clinical Psychology and was a former valedictorian at The University of Queensland. Jefferson is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) with endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist. He is an accredited Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) provider.

Madeleine is a Clinical Psychology Registrar who has experience working with people across the lifespan in both hospital and community settings. She has worked with individuals from a diverse range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, and takes on a person-centred approach with her clients. She has experience in the treatment of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance use, body image concerns, stress, low self-esteem, and adjustment to life changes (incl. physical conditions). Madeleine uses a warm, non-judgemental approach to implement evidence-based interventions to collaboratively tailor therapy to suit the needs and goals of her clients.

Dr Schäfer is a Clinical Psychologist with experience working with children and young people, adults, and older adults from a wide variety of backgrounds. She has worked across a range of settings including, research, hospitals, and outpatient clinics in the public health sector in London, UK. Dr Schäfer has a particular interest in working with adults who have experienced trauma. She has also worked extensively with clients presenting with depression, social phobia, panic, generalised anxiety disorder, OCD, specific phobias, grief, adjustment to life changes (incl. physical conditions), stress, and low self esteem. Dr Schäfer works collaboratively with clients primarily using Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, but also draws from Compassion-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness. Dr Schäfer completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London. She is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) with endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist.

Dr Taylor consults at our Clayfield Office.
THOMAS, Dr Hannah

Dr Thomas is a Clinical Psychologist who treats patients across the lifespan, but with a special interest in working with young people, parents, and families. She has experience across community, hospital, and school settings, and has treated patients with a diverse range of concerns (i.e., depression, anxiety, relationship issues, sleep problems, chronic pain, physical health ailments, ADHD, ASD). Dr Thomas utilises evidence-based interventions and tailors therapy to suit each individual’s needs and goals. In addition to clinical practice, she also conducts research in the area of child and youth mental health. Dr Thomas holds a Master of Clinical Psychology and a PhD from The University of Queensland.

Dr Wainwright is a Clinical Psychologist with a Clinical PhD in Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology. He has 20 years experience in public and private settings, and is a member of the Clinical College and Neuropsychological College of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). He provides supervision to Postgraduates and Registrars in Clinical Psychology. Dr Wainwright has extensive experience in treating substance misuse issues, especially alcohol, methamphetamine, and cannabis; anxiety disorders (Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Health Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Specific Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder & PTSD); Adjustment Disorders; Mood Disorders; perfectionism, and self-esteem issues. His treatment incorporates evidence-based approaches.

Sheena is a Clinical Psychology Registrar who holds general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. She has experience treating individuals in a range of hospital and community mental health settings. Sheena has worked with individuals from varying cultural backgrounds presenting with depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, grief, low self-esteem, ADHD, stress, and adjustment difficulties to major life changes such as an illness. She has a particular interest in working with people who have experienced trauma. Sheena works collaboratively with clients, and tailors evidence-based treatments according to their needs and personalities.
